How May We Help You?

Morgan's Office of Public Relations & Strategic Communications (OPRSC) is the central communications hub for the entire university. OPRSC is responsible for managing all facets of the University’s internal and external communications functions, including but not limited to marketing, branding, crisis communications, media relations, advertising and social media. The office works to promote and increase visibility and understanding to support the University's strategic priorities, mission, and vision.

Media Relations

OPRSC provides media relations assistance to print, broadcast, and online media  outlets. The members of our team can connect reporters with designated spokespeople or faculty experts, coordinate interview requests or provide official University statements. We can also assist members of the media with any on campus photography or videography requests. Please note that all members of the media should contact OPRSC in advance of your arrival on campus to secure the proper permissions.

Filming On Campus

The university grants approval on a very limited basis for filming and photography on campus. Whether for television and motion picture productions, PSAs or commercials, or even student-related projects, prior approval from the Office of Public Relations & Strategic Communications is required. Contact us for more information. Please note that certain scripts and/or other necessary material may require review by the appropriate university offices, including the Office of the General Counsel.

Maryland Public Information Act Requests

To review or obtain copies of Morgan State University public records, you must make a written request under Maryland's Public Information Act ("PIA"). The Maryland PIA, which gives the public the right to review and obtain copies of disclosable public records, is found in the General Provisions Article, §§ 4-101 through 4-601, of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

Submitting a Request

When submitting a request you must include the following information:
